Nicole Squadrito Husky Sport
Dear valen, Ashley, Pradeep, Rick and Beth, Janet, and Michael,

Coach Nicole is a Coach Across America member in Hartford, CT. Coach Across America (CAA) is an AmeriCorps program launched by Up2Us to provide its member organizations with the support needed to train and host highly effective coaches in sports and youth development.

Coach Nicole was a shy girl growing up and didn’t get involved in sports until a friend coaxed her in high school.  She joined the lacrosse team and fell in love with the sport, playing through college. Coach Nicole also learned the importance of team and is one thing she focuses on with her students.

“I believe that being a part of a team is rewarding because you are working hard for your own personal achievement but also need to learn to work together toward a common goal,” Coach Nicole said.

Thanks to your donations, Valen, Ashley, Pradeep, Rick and Beth, Janet and particularly Michael, Coach Nicole can continue to inspire and empower kids through sports.

Coach Armond Continues to Change Kids’ Lives.

coach armond
Dear Frederic, Arianna, jon, Tim, Tom, Julie, and Marty & Lorraine,

Coach Armond is a Coach Across America member in Los Angelas. Coach Across America (CAA) is an AmeriCorps program launched by Up2Us to provide its member organizations with the support needed to train and host highly effective coaches in sports and youth development throughout the United States.

Armond comes from a family of educators. His father is the Asst. Superintendent of the Ventura Unified School District and his mother is a high school guidance counselor. He has an uncle who is a middle school principal, a cousin who coaches soccer at a D1 school in Southern Cal, an aunt who taught high school English, and so on and so forth. It seemed an interest in the field of education and child interaction is in his genes.

Compounding the fact that every job he has had when growing up has been focus on enriching the lives of kids (summer camps, youth basketball ref and gym supervisor, program coordinator for a Boys and Girls Club), it seems that this was a path he was born to walk. When he discovered Coach Across America, he did everything in his power to become a part of the program.

This is his second term with CAA, and as a full time CAA coach, he is overjoyed with the work environment that has blossomed around him, with the experiences and other coaches he has met along the way, and with the sense that he is doing some good in this world.

Thanks to all of your donations, Coach Armond can continue to inspire and empower kids through sports.  Thank you all for making it possible for Armond to keep coaching kids for the next year!
